Here's Our House

So when I posted that I would put pictures on the blog THIS week, you all read NEXT week, right?
I thought that you all knew me that well.

Here is what our house looks like from the road:
This is the limestone part that was built in the late 1700's (1775-78.) There are two rooms on the first floor and two on the second. The entryway and stairs are in the center of the house, and the middle window upstairs is is the 2nd floor landing.

If you were to walk around the right side of the house, this is what you would see:
The white part of the house is brick and was added in the 1850's. The door under the balcony is the main entrance and goes in to the kitchen. The two windows to the left are the bathrooms. This area (the bathrooms) may have been added later because the inside walls are brick and at least 12 inches thick. The one-story room on the right is the mud room and it is built of cinder block. So it is a later addition, but I don't know when it was added.

The rhododendron bush to the right of the pine tree is where the cardinal nest was. And there is a robin nest with babies in the bush on the right corner of the front of the house. And baby starlings in the attic, but we are NOT so excited about that.
